When Owner Harm Alken of Prior Lake isn't at the shop, you'll
find him fine-tuning vehicle performance on the racetrack. Harm is
#90 behind the wheel at Raceway Park in Shakopee for top division
Late Model racing.
More than 18 racecars rolled out for the June 8 grand opening
of his new business, Prior Lake Transmission and Auto Services.
Harm began car racing in 1999, When he discovered an open
location for a shop in Prior Lake during a stop in at Village
Market, he jumped at the chance to bring great vehicle services
south of the river.
Harm and his staff of 5 car experts can help with everything
from installing custom transmissions in classic cars, hot rods and
street cars, to standard exhaust suspension, driveline repairs and
more.
As a young teen growing up in Minneapolis, Harm developed an
interest in engines at his first job installing car headlights and
changing oil.
His passion for cars grew. A decade ago he opened his first
business, Midwest Transmission, located at 3412 Cedar Ave. S in
Minneapolis.
Harm's Minneapolis company is still going strong. It now
services the city of Minneapolis fleet vehicles for the police
department and other city crews and and staff.
The city of Minneapolis puts its trust in Harm and his
mechanics.
Prior Lake Transmission is a new name, but it brings with a
history of sound judgment, experience, and fair pricing.
